This was my first visit to Ko Chang or Elephant Island in four years. A quick glance told me it has really changed a lot in that time.

There are many newly-developed resorts of all types; budget, luxury, boutique, and well, of course, oriental-Bali themed - scattered along beaches and the main road. One of these newcomers is the year-old Ramayana Resort and Spa.

The resort's name is derived from the Indian epic Ramayana which explains why its rooms and facilities are named after characters in the epic e.g. Hanuman, Ravana, and Rama guest rooms, and Sita Spa.

The resort offers 64 luxurious rooms, suites and family suites, all with private patio and garden view, backed by beautiful Thai architecture and contemporary Asian interior.
